Gone are the days when a person’s living room consisted of a television and a remote. Today, a person can bring the joy of a movie theater in their own home. You can invest in home theater technology that enhances everything from a home movie to an intense sporting event.
The right home theater receiver and sound system can make it seem as if the football game is being played directly in your living room. A person’s home really is his or her castle. Thus, it pays to take the time to really invest in a high quality home theater sound system. The following are some tips to help you choose the best possible system for your home and budget.
Ask Around
One of the best ways to choose the best home theater sound system for you is to ask people about their experiences with various systems. For example, talk to friends, family members, coworkers, and even neighbors to see if they or someone they know has bought a system. If you ask around, you will quickly generate a list of products to look at and a list to stay away from. At the end of the day, this will help you when it comes time to shop for a home theater sound system. After all, such people will give you firsthand information about different products.
Read Reviews
If you want to find a great home theater sound system, you need to read reviews of various brands and models. This is the best way to really get inside information to help you choose the right products for your home. Thus, take a look at expert reviews. You can find these in magazines that focus on electronics and specifically on home theater sound systems, and you can find them on many websites and blogs. Professionals will know to look at how the system is made, its capabilities and features, and how it compares to other products in the market.
Similarly, you should also read customer reviews if you are considering a home theater sound system. These reviews are written by people who bought and used the item. Thus, you can get some really great information about whether or not a system is worth a second look or worth its price. If you read as many reviews as possible, you will be that much more likely to find the right home theater sound system for your needs.

QUESTION:
How do you clean burned stainless steel?
I was boiling water for some tea in a small, stainless steel pot (Faberware brand), and went to take a shower. About an hour later, I realize that the pot is still on the stove, no water in it, and the bottom is all burned!I grabbed it with an oven mitt and promptly threw it into the snow to cool it.
Now I’m left with a burnt pan…How do I clean this up before everyone gets home? And will it be safe to cook in??
I just tried using a ….steel wool…I guess you call it? pad with blue stuff in it to clean it out.I don’t know if it was the water that burnt or the metal itself. The bottom of the pan that touched the stove doesn’t have any signs of damage, just the inside.
I tried boiling vinegar and baking soda in it and it seems to have helped a little, but the smell was terrible; I wouldn’t be able to handle bleach!
I’m going to run it through the dishwasher and see what that does. At least I didn’t destroy the glass stove-top!

QUESTION:
Does this seem like a good heating system?
I’ve talked with 5 people about a new heating/cooling system, and have narrowed it down to 2 guys. Both gave me a quote for a hydro-air system.
Just regarding the boilers, are the following two fairly equivalent:
1) Weil Mclain Boiler Ultra 92% – 98%
2) 93% Efficiency Munchkin Contender wall hung boilerOther pieces of equipment in the quote we are favoring (goes with the munchkin) … any opinion on these? Decent equipment? Note: this is a two story, 2200 sq ft home in South Eastern MA.
Two 20ton First Co hydro air handlers
Two 16 SEER, 410-a refrigerant goodman heat pump condensers
One 60gal superstore stainless steel hot water storage tank
Two 2-stage robertShaw programmable t/statsAny questions I might be forgetting to ask? I’m in shock at the prices, and it’s hard to know the right choice.
Thanks for any opinions / advice!
The Munchkin boiler with all the other pieces listed is k. The other, including the weil MacClein boiler is 000. Not sure of all the other pieces of equipment, but “First Company” was also mentioned.
We are getting the heat pumps because they aren’ tmuch more than just the AC units. I suspect most of the winter they wouldn’t be in use, unless its a mild winter.
Not sure if it matters, but we have propane.
Would a different type of hot water heater be better? Just one totally seperate from the boiler?-
ANSWER:
The price of both units would be nice to know?

QUESTION:
how does the steel pan handle remain cool even when the rest of the pan is hot?
I have a stainless teel pan at home that, from what I can see, is all metal. So I would expect the handle [also metal and joined to the pan] would also get hot when I boil water in the pan, but the handle doesn’t .I bought this pan about a year ago.
What technology do they use?
-
ANSWER:
Just like stainless takes longer to heat up than copper. The handle is made of less condutive alloy and heat transfer is part of that as well.
